When you first get braces are you suppose to be able to chew food?
I just got braces on a few days ago, but I am having trouble closing my teeth together completey. This means that I can't chew any food either. Is this suppose to happen? Has anyone else had this problem. All I want to do is rip these braces off my teeth they are really annoying and uncomfortable and I can't talk properly.

I had the same problem when I first got mine but it does get much better and easier to handle. it sounds weird now to you but when you get them off, you will want them back on cuz your teeth will feel soooo loose and like they are moving all over the place. You will want the sturdiness of the braces. Trust me, it does get much easier.

I had the same problem. If its painfull have some panadol. The lisp will go within a week. Practise speaking 's' words. Eating mushed up food and drinking heaps for 3 or 4 days will make it better.

I had this problem when I first got my braces. All i could eat for a week was soup and jello. In about a week thw swelling will go down and you will talk normaly, and be able to eat! If they're uncomfortable, get a lot of wax, that's what i used! good luck! [source:  Yahoo! Answers]

What color braces look good for a girly girl in middle school?
I'm a toatle girly girl and im getting braces in 2 days what colors should i avoid and
what colors look good if you have really red lips?

Avoid dark colors like navy and black...they make u look like you have holes or food on ur
Teeth and they make ur teeth look less white.
I would advise a pink or a light blue. Those are always good.
Try to go with lighter colors...but nothing like yellow or lime green...those are too
bright!!
and dont worrry...they have TONS of colors.

Pink sounds like your color. try to stay away from dark colors especially black. the clear

PS: you had an answer on here that said the braces would make you ugly but i think that,
"that person" is truely ugly and im sure you will be beautiful no matter what color you

Get something to contrast against your lips then. Pink would just make your entire face look pink. Try a violet or light blue. Green and yellow sound cool, but not on teeth, ya know?

Getting my braces off in a week! What can i do to make my teeth white and loosen the glue?
I am winsing with perixiode, but i dont want my teeth to be all yellow and nasty when my braces come off. What can i do to make the glue loose and my teeth super white?

You'll be fine. I was worried about the same thing when I got mine off. I was scared that were my brackets were sitting would be yellow and the rest of my teeth would be white, but they were the same color everywhere when I got them off. Your dentist will remove all the glue and clean your teeth for you. And just to add this, you'll probably think your teeth look huge when you get your braces off, dont' worry they aren't. lol, I thought mine were just because I wasn't used to seeing them. Also, make sure you wear your retainer every night because if you don't your teeth will go back to the way they were, trust me. I haven't worn mine in like a couple weeks and my teeth are moving back. D: I need to start wearing it again. Well anyway, good luck! :D

Trust me I have had braces, and when they take them off, they clean them very well. Trust me my teeth are like super white, and I had to do nothing extra. Just trust them, and if they don't clean them, then I'm sorry to say, your orthodontist doesn't know what he/she is doing.

Yeah, they do clean them very well...they take something to get all the glue off of your teeth. I guess you could use whitening strips after you get your braces off, but usually they are pretty normal after. unless you didn't take care of your teeth while you had braces. [source: Yahoo! Answers]
