Are invisalign braces better than ordinary braces?
i have mild overlapping teeth and need to get braces but don't want the traditional braces. i have asked my dentist and he thinks that braces aren't necessary but i would prefer straighter teeth.
i was wondering could anyone help me in telling me are invisalign braces better and are they dearer?

invisalign braces are not noticeable and are ''invisable'' when worn so they are obviously better appearance wise but this comes at a higher cost than metal braces.

Disadvantages
-Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. The Invisalign system is for adults and cannot be used if baby teeth remain.
-The Invisalign Aligners are removable and require motivation to be worn consistently. You will need to decide if you have the self discipline to wear the Invisalign Aligners or if you would be better off with non-removable clear Ceramic Braces or Invisible Braces which are hidden on the back of your teeth.
-Since the Invisalign Aligners are removable they can be misplaced. Lost Invisalign Aligners may result in an extra charge by your Orthodontist and may delay treatment until your new custom made Invisalign Aligners are replaced. Traditional Braces allow for colors of elastics to be placed on the metal brackets. Some people have fun choosing and changing their colors.
-Some patients may experience difficulty adjusting to the feel of the Invisalign Aligners in their mouth. Before spending the cost of the Invisalign treatment, you should decide if you are a patient person who can give some time to adjusting to the new feel of the Invisalign Aligners on your teeth. A few patients may experience some gum irritation with the Invisalign Aligners.
-There is also a possibility that they can stain.
-The cost of Invisalign can sometimes be significantly more than with metal Braces. The computerized custom clear Invisalign Aligners will result in a lab bill for your orthodontist which is passed on to you in the form of your treatment fee. With traditional orthodontic Braces there is the cost of the brackets and wires, but no such lab bill for your Orthodontist to cover.

Hope this helps a bit! Both braces and metal braces do basically the same job. It doesn't sound like your teeth are really bad so you ddont neccessarily have to have metal braces.

You could also research 'invisable braces' which are like metal braces except the metal square on the tooth is clear, these are also known as 'ceramic braces'

If its a mild overlap, i would say do invisilign, HOWEVER, i'm in my early twenties and i have a gap with an overbite, i could have done invislign for this but choose traditonal braces because they are about 2,000 cheaper, work faster and you can get them clear, within a month my gap is closed! my orth told me that traditional braces work alot faster than invisilgn, also as an adult no one cares if you have braces, i think its like a childhoood thing when people make fun. ADULTS don't care, no one even mentions it, so if you go traditional, it wont be a big deal and it will work faster, ESP since your teeth have mild imperfections :D

Yes, they are better because you can barely see them, yes they are dearer for that very reason.

They are better because they are more estaetics.
